Zinc Air

ALKALINE BATTERIES
Alkaline batteries are based on an electrochemical zinc-oxygen pair. They use atmospheric oxygen (cathode) to produce depolarization. The anode is a large-surface-area zinc powder dispersed in a potassium hydroxide solution.
Download Properties
The nominal open circuit voltage: 1.5V per cell.
The initial closed-circuit voltage at 20°C is 1.35V per cell (20% higher than other battery systems).
Very suitable for continuously supplying up to 5.4 watts of load in the 1.5 to 24V range.
Capacity range: 20Ah - 2000Ah.
Typical final voltage per cell: 0.9V.
The voltage reduction during battery discharge is extremely low.
The operating voltage is lower at higher discharge currents, as is typical with all battery systems.
Energy Density
Higher energy density and specific energy (and weight) ratio than other types of batteries (because atmospheric air is one of the battery reactants): approx. 360Wh/kg.

It requires no maintenance or special procedures before use. It is activated by removing the label or cap on top of the battery. Safe to handle, with no risk of leaks in fixed or mobile installations. Shelf life: 2 years (capacity loss per year is only 5%). It can be used successfully at temperatures ranging from -20°C to +45°C. Variations in atmospheric humidity do not significantly affect its operating performance.
